Bad engine diagnostic. Removed the original engine and replaced it with a Cummins diesel engine — swapped in for reliability and ease of access to parts.
John Deere recommended a new HPD pump. Tested the pump — working properly. Found it had a suction issue that would have persisted with a new pump. Installed an air bleed valve, which fixed the suction issue.
